It All Begins

Today I finally worked out what I wanted to do for my IB CAS Group Project. In my final year at the school, the year 12 cohort have an incredible opportunity to develop a vision and focus for the school over the next 12 months. We've decided that we want to focus on mental health; both raising awareness of the issue, as well as revealing ways to develop a positive mental health.

This issue is something that is particularly relevant to men, with suicide rates alarmingly high. There is a misconception that men need to internalise all their problems, pretending everything is all right, and that this is what 'being a man' is about. We need to change this view and make young men understand that it's ok not to be ok, and it's just as ok to ask for help.
